D-fender high security escutcheon, a new IFAM release
Robustness and maximum security are the words that best define IFAM’s latest launch in its range of door escutcheons: the D-fender model. Available in two sizes, this new escutcheon draws attention due to the solidity of its core and its outer shell, both made of solid, reinforced steel with a thickness of 15mm in its central zone.
It has been especially designed by IFAM to avoid forcing by extraction. Also, its core has been tested in independent laboratories and has obtained the EN: 1303: 2015 certification.
Another additional security element consists of the actual assembly of the escutcheon. The core is attached to the door independently by the outer shell. Thus, in the hypothetical case that the armour is extracted by force, the core would still have to be removed. Hence, the break-in attempt becomes even more complicated and requires more time and noise to be carried out.
In addition, the D-fender escutcheon includes steel lugs, which are recommended to be installed to reinforce security against attempts to rotate and extract the shield.
The D-fender escutcheon is available in two sizes (D-fender 100 and D-fender 200) and in nickel and brass finishes. What’s more, the finish with electroplating treatment makes it especially resistant to scratching and corrosion.
